WHO I AM
My name is Alessandro Capitoni, I am a lover of good Wine
and good food.
Entrepreneur in the hotel business since 1987 and today,
producer of extra virgin olive oil in 3 municipalities in the Val d’Orcia.
My father, Ivo, was a far better farmer than me,
very skilled with olive trees,
I always tried to escape from that world,
so I followed in the footsteps
of my relatives in the hotel business: training in the field
and career in the world of hospitality.
For 10 years I ran Podere Spedalone, where I managed
700 olive trees, a vegetable garden and a few hens,
what initially constituted a problem in the beginning
has now become a real passion
that has brought me back, not only into the world of agriculture, but
that has made me build a real business in the field.
To date my production counts:
– 5 olive groves divided into three territories in the Val d’Orcia:
Pereti, Torrenieri, Manoniccola and Cosonella
– Organic honey
– Balsamic vinegar
– Organic saffron harvested and produced
by one of the largest growers in Tuscany: Egisto Brandi
